Nikon Digital Camera Nikon Capture 4.3.1 Updater Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP.

This is Nikon Capture 4.3.1 Updater for Windows.

Any version of Nikon Capture from Ver. 4.2.0 to Ver. 4.3.0 must be installed before proceeding with this update. If you are using Nikon Capture 4 Ver. 4.1.3 or earlier, please upgrade to Ver. 4.2.0 before proceeding with this update. Turn off all virus-scanning software and exit Nikon Capture or any other application that may be running before proceeding with this installation.

If Nikon Capture 4 Ver. 4.3.1 is to be used with Nikon View, please be sure to use Nikon View version 6.2.0 or later. However, Nikon View does not support the new functions introduced with Nikon Capture 4 Ver. 4.2.0 or later.

Note that memory requirements have increased to a minimum of 256MB of RAM (768MB or more recommended). - You must have Administrator authority when installing the Software Updater under Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

  • This Updater Software cannot be used to upgrade a language version of Nikon Capture 4 other than Japanese to the Japanese version.
  • Be sure to read the sections, What's new/Content Description and Issues addressed with Nikon Capture 4 Ver. 4.3.1, before performing this update.

    Issues addressed with Nikon Capture 4 version 4.3.1:

  • When images captured with the D2X at a color mode setting of I or II exhibited a loss of detail in highlights, the RGB values displayed in the Information palette did not display the maximum value of 255 with sampling of these portions. This phenomenon has been corrected.
  • When RAW images captured with the D1X and the AF DX Fisheye Nikkor ED 10.5mm f/2.8G lens were opened at 10MP (4016 x 2616), images printed as if Include areas where there is no image data in the Fisheye Lens palette were applied despite the fact that it wasn't. This phenomenon has been corrected.
  • A phenomenon that caused a decrease in sharpness when images were straightened using the Straighten option selected from the Image menu's Rotate sub-menu has been corrected.
  • When multiple images were edited simultaneously in the Multi-Image window, an error occurred when the Auto Contrast button was pressed after the curve was edited in the Curves palette. This phenomenon has been corrected.
  • A phenomenon that caused Nikon Capture to quit unexpectedly with some computer systems when another application was launched while D-Lighting processing was being performed has been corrected.
  • When lens zoom position was adjusted AFTER Nikon Capture Camera Control settings were applied and saved with the Settings menu's Save Camera Settings option, aperture value did not revert to the value saved in the settings file when the settings were loaded. This phenomenon has been corrected.
